Grateful for the journey. Inspired by what’s next.

THE WORK

Four things, carried at once.

Creating

Books, ideas, businesses, memorable experiences, community initiatives, beautiful spaces and meaningful conversations. The best chapters are still being written.

Leading

More than two decades of experience in executive leadership, healthcare, entrepreneurship and business development. Building teams, guiding growth and leading with purpose.

Investing

Business ownership, real estate and emerging opportunities. A commitment to ideas, people, education, family and community.

Serving

Caring for others and creating opportunities for people who might otherwise be overlooked through philanthropy, education, advocacy, mentorship and the work of Starworks Foundation.

FAITH IN ACTION

Love, put into action.

“Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
Matthew 25:40, KJV

My faith is the foundation of how I live, lead and serve. Guided by Matthew 25:40, I believe that caring for others is an expression of my love for Christ. I seek to put that belief into action by honoring each person's dignity, supporting those in need and serving with compassion and purpose.

ABOUT

Rooted in purpose. Still becoming.

Today, her work centers on the people and conversations that matter most: families navigating care, communities in need and the next generation of leaders.

She is an author, investor, philanthropist, speaker and lifelong learner whose interests span business, healthcare, education, the arts and community development. As President of Starworks Foundation, she leads programs in aging, caregiving and scholarships, including Mimi’s Memory in Action. She convenes forums that help families prepare, navigate care and support those they love, and she continues to explore real estate and new business ventures.

Through it all, her faith and her life as a wife and mother of two boys remain at the heart of who she is.

Much to be thankful for. More to give.

THE BOOK

Journeys of Goodbye

Stories of Grief, Love, and End of Life Reflections. Curated by Satavia Hazley Austin, featuring the Healing Pen Collective.

What began as a book has become a platform: a growing readership, a conversation series, and a body of work on legacy and preparation that reaches far beyond the page.

PHILANTHROPY

Serving, built to grow.

Starworks
Foundation

A Houston nonprofit built around education, empowerment, opportunity and community impact, supporting vulnerable individuals and families. Its programs address aging, caregiving, scholarships, health and emerging community needs — and the foundation is designed to evolve as those needs change.

Its newest program, Mimi's Memory in Action, was inspired by Satavia's grandmother. It funds one-to-one, non-medical care for people living with Alzheimer's and other dementias, and gives their family caregivers relief. Every $25 gives an hour of care.

Community Leadership and Service

Satavia serves on the executive board of The Doll Foundation. She also supports the Ivy Educational and Charitable Foundation of Houston through its scholarship programs and annual fashion show.

SPEAKING
